Legal & Medical Advocate
Aly Garback is a Legal & Medical Advocate working out of Resilience’s Northside satellite office. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago where she studied Applied Psychology and Sociology. While pursuing her education, Aly had the opportunity to complete a social service internship with CASVP: Centre d’Action Sociale de la Ville de Paris, working closely with folks who were experiencing chronic homelessness and sexual violence in Paris, France. After completing the 60-hour training to become a Rape Crisis Counselor, she started with Resilience as the Advocacy Volunteer Management Intern. Through this internship, she assisted with the volunteer program, in addition to responding to the emergency room as a volunteer medical advocate. Aly feels that she has found her life’s work in trauma work and hopes to one day work as a trauma counselor.
