Amarin Young

Marketing and Communications Associate

Amarin Young is the Marketing and Communications Associate at Resilience, where she is responsible for supporting the organization’s mission to empower survivors and end sexual violence by developing and executing a marketing strategy and communicating Resilience’s vision to its various audiences. Amarin joined Resilience in November 2018 and is passionate about securing justice for survivors and working toward a future free of sexual violence. She completed her 40 hours of training in sexual assault crisis intervention in 2016 and volunteers on the 24-hour crisis hotline at Rape Advocacy, Counseling, and Education Services in Urbana, Illinois. Before working at Resilience, Amarin served as the Program Coordinator at YWCA of the University of Illinois, coordinating social justice education and advocacy programs for university students and the greater Champaign-Urbana community. Amarin is dedicated to finding compelling ways to communicate about knowledge that matters and has served as a peer educator on issues of diversity and inclusion, worked on feminist zines, and taught children and tween girls to produce indie radio. Amarin holds a BA in English from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a MA in the Humanities from the University of Chicago.
