Kae Vecchia-Zeitz (they/them)
Prevention Educator & OMMB Coordinator
As Prevention Educator & OMMB Coordinator on Resilience’s Education + Training team, I oversee sexual violence prevention education programming in Chicago Public Schools ranging from K-12, in addition to facilitating caregiver and adult professional workshops. When school is not in session, I spend the summer as the Our Music My Body coordinator where I oversee and implement the educational campaign focused on promoting awareness and prevention of sexual violence within music industry spaces.
I first joined the Resilience team as a graduate intern while earning my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Chicago. Upon graduation, I was hired as a full-time prevention educator, and have been Resilience staff for the last year. I chose to work as a prevention educator at Resilience because as someone who has worked as a case manager and advocate for survivors of sexual violence, and as someone who is a survivor of sexual violence myself, it is deeply fulfilling and gratifying work to educate communities about how we can heal and prevent further harm from happening.
Fun Fact: I am originally from an island which you can only get to by boat or plane!
