Leah Hungerford
Director of Finance & Administration
Leah Hungerford is the Director of Finance & Administration at Resilience. Before joining Resilience in March of 2014, Leah was the Finance and Administrative Coordinator at Victim Rights Law Center in Boston, MA. While at VRLC, Leah met many survivors, advocates, and allies dedicated to the fight to end sexual violence; she is thrilled to continue her involvement and activism at Resilience. Leah has also worked as a consultant for several not for profit organizations, and was the Office Coordinator in the Office of Student Services at the New England Conservatory from 2006-2009. In addition to her work in finance, Leah is a classical singer and voice teacher. She holds a Master of Music Degree in Voice from the University of South Carolina, and a Graduate Diploma in Voice from the New England Conservatory, where she was also an adjunct member of the voice faculty. While at NEC, Leah began working in the Accounts Payable office, and soon found herself in the unusual position of being an opera singer with an accounting hobby. She joined Boston Opera Collaborative, “a company managed by its vibrant artists, dedicated to cultivating exceptional performance opportunities” in 2006 as an artist and Finance Chair, a position she held until 2013. Leah has also completed 40 hours of training in Sexual Assault Crisis Intervention. Attending this training has enabled her to not only provide support and options for survivors of sexual assault, but also the ability to engage in constructive dialogue around an issue she was already passionate about. While her capacity is not in direct service, she is committed to ensuring survivors of interpersonal violence are believed and supported.
