Legal & Medical Advocate
Manili Alaniz is a Legal & Medical Advocate at Resilience, working out of the Area North Detective Division with the Chicago Police Department. She assists survivors in explaining their criminal and civil justice options, should survivors choose to engage. She joined Resilience shortly after she graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a bachelor’s in Criminology, Law and Justice. Manili became interested in using the legal system to affect meaningful change through working as a paralegal. She developed her passion for advocating and delivering empowerment through previously interning with Resilience. Manili completed training in sexual assault and crisis intervention in 2017 and is able to deliver advocacy services in both English and Spanish.
