Legal & Medical Advocate
Rachel Hastings is a Legal & Medical Advocate working out of Resilience’s Austin Community Office. She is a recent graduate of Lake Forest College where she studied neuroscience, Spanish, and English literature. Prior to working at Resilience, Rachel has had professional experiences addressing gender violence and promoting safe sex practices at a public health clinic in Granada, Spain and working with Chicago-area immigrants who are survivors of gender-based crimes at the nonprofit legal clinic, Mil Mujeres. She has always known that her life’s work would be about empowering others, and is absolutely thrilled to work at an organization which seeks to better understand how other systems of oppression intersect with rape culture.
