Russell is the Central Prevention Educator at Resilience and uses “they/them/theirs” pronouns. In 2020, they earned their B.A. from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a major in Urban Politics and minors in Social Justice and Public Policy. Before joining Resilience, they have worked in Chicago Public Schools as a substitute teacher and rank-and-file member of the Chicago Teachers Union (AFT Local 1). As a Queer fiber artist, they co-facilitate a community crochet group in their free time, and they also care for a number of houseplants. They are passionate about connecting with their community, their chosen family, and the earth that sustains us.
