Sidoni Gonzalez

Supervisor of Advocacy Services

Sidoni Gonzalez is Resilience’s Supervisor of Advocacy Services. In her role as an advocate, she provides supervision to our medical and legal advocates with an empathic, knowledgeable, and compassionate approach. Sidoni came to Resilience with 4 years of experience in community organizing and working with women and the LGBTQ community. It is with in this work she realized how pervasive gender based violence is in interpersonal relationships and in a larger context of legislature and media presentations of women and the LGBTQ community.  In 2014 she began to volunteer for Resilience as medical advocate where she was soon hired on as a staff advocate- a testimony to the impactful work she was doing as a volunteer! Sidoni also has experience working with Latino youth where she facilitated skill shares and conversations about sexual health and pregnancy prevention with young women. She graduated from  UIC with a BA in photography and graphic design and has completed 40 hours of domestic violence training in addition to standard and advanced training in sexual assault crisis intervention. She is fluent in verbal and written Spanish/English.
