Senior Legal & Medical Advocate
Grissel Blackmon is a Senior Legal & Medical Advocate at Resilience, working out of the Area North Detective Division with the Chicago Police Department. She assists survivors in explaining their criminal justice options, should survivors choose to engage. She joined Resilience shortly after she graduated from Dominican University, with a double major in Clinical Psychology and the Study of Women and Gender. Currently, she is interested in furthering her education. She developed her passion for advocating and delivering empowerment through her second major, the Study of Women and Gender, as a proud feminist. Grissel has also worked in many areas of youth development and child care. Grissel has undergone training in sexual assault and crisis intervention back in 2016 and is able to deliver advocacy services in both English and Spanish.
