Monica Lanum

Director of People & Culture

Monica Lanum has been the Director of People & Culture at Resilience since November 2019. She previously served as the Chief Human Resources Officer for The Children’s Place Association, a nonprofit organization serving children and families facing health issues and poverty in Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood. During her 10 years at Children’s Place, Monica was responsible for all aspects of human resources, including recruitment, talent management, employee engagement, compensation management, and benefits administration. In addition to her work in the nonprofit sector, Monica has held human resources generalist positions with Party City, LaQuinta Inns, and other corporations.

Monica also volunteers as a literacy tutor with The Literacy Connection in Elgin. In this role, she supports individuals in acquiring fundamental literacy skills as well as learning to read, write, speak, and understand English as a second language.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Personnel Management) from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, and Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She is also a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
