Valerie Papillon, LCSW, CCTP, is a Trauma Therapist at both Resilience’s Northside and Central office locations. In addition to her clinical knowledge, Valerie incorporates her community organizing experience into her therapeutic work to illuminate how broader social structures shape individual experiences. Her clinical work addresses issues of trauma, depression, anxiety, racism, and other forms of oppression. Valerie has worked with incarcerated women, adolescents, families, and is expanding her expertise to include couple’s work. She has collaborated across professional disciplines in schools and other educational settings to provide consultation and support in implementing trauma-informed practices. She received her Master’s in social work from the School of Social Service Administration at the University of Chicago. Valerie believes healing is attainable when people are able to access the right support as they learn to make use of their pain. She feels deeply honored to be alongside clients on their paths toward wholeness.
