You can support survivors and our work to end sexual violence by making a tax-deductible contribution to Resilience.
“Nobody is unconnected to this.” –Jean Cozier, Resilience donor since 2000
Survivors need your support. In America it is estimated that every seventy-three seconds, a person is sexually assaulted. Every nine minutes, that person is a child. Everyone harmed by sexual violence is worthy of our attention and concern, but when survivors seek help, they are often met with more pain and disappointment. Because of so many barriers to support for survivors, three out of four sexual assaults go unreported, and out of every 1,000 rapes, only five will be prosecuted.
Yet despite all the ways the world fails survivors, we at Resilience know there is so much opportunity for support when we choose to give it. At Resilience offices and wherever there is an advocate, survivors are being listened to without judgment, cared for without question, and trusted without doubt. And since twenty-seven percent of Resilience clients are children, that level of unconditional support often has an especially powerful impact on a survivor’s resilience.
As an organization completely dedicated to the healing and empowerment of sexual violence survivors, Resilience is growing our ability to be a source of support this year: with a stronger prevention program, a professional training institute, and the addition of dance/movement therapy to help survivors experience their bodies as safe again. In 2019 we are proud that more people are joining us to learn about what survivors need and offer their support, however they can.
Please make your online gift to Resilience today. I have no doubt that together, we can support survivors in creating the world they deserve.
