Support Resilience’s Annual Giving Campaign

“Every dollar that we give sends a real message to a survivor that we care, that they’re important, and that the services that Resilience provides are critical to our community” – Lauren Pesa, Resilience Board of Directors President

Sexual violence is pervasive and can impact anyone. Too often, people experience sexual violence and then are retraumatized by the lack of resources, support, and services available to them in the aftermath of that violence.  When survivors are ready to begin their healing journey, we want them to know that Resilience is here for them. All our services are free to survivors and their loved ones. As Chicago’s only stand-alone rape crisis center, our sole mission is to support and empower survivors.

Last year, Resilience trained over 5,800 professionals. We reached over 1,400 survivors and their loved ones served through advocacy, trauma therapy, and anonymous crisis support. We reached over 8,400 individuals through our prevention education program. We cannot make this impact alone. We are able to reach these individuals and provide our free services to survivors and their loved ones only with your help.

We need your help to get educators into classrooms to teach students about consent. We need your help to get Medical Advocates into hospitals to aid survivors. We need your help to connect Trauma Therapists to survivors and their loved ones. We need your help to empower survivors and end sexual violence.

This year we have been celebrating and honoring our “Resilient Together” theme. It takes each member of our community to be Resilient Together. We cannot do this work alone and we know it takes every single one of us working as a committed, united front to raise awareness, create positive change, and offer the necessary resources for the greater goal of ending sexual violence.

Our goal for our annual appeal is $50,000. Please consider donating to Resilience this giving season. Here’s where your dollars make a difference:

  • A gift of $1,000 helps cover monthly transportation expenses for survivors to and from hospitals
  • A gift of $500 helps cover the cost of multiple prevention education sessions with students K-12
  • A gift of $300 covers the cost of our 60-hour medical advocacy training for 4 new volunteers
  • A gift of $100 will provide 2 trauma therapy sessions for a survivor or their loved ones

Donating isn’t the only way to help. Consider starting a fundraiser for us, sharing and amplifying our message on social media, encouraging your networks to give and get involved, and volunteering your time. Your commitment to this cause is deeply appreciated and we cannot thank you enough for standing with survivors!
