60-Hour Advocacy Volunteer Training
July 24 -5:30 pm - 9:30 pm
An event every week that begins at 5:30 pm on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, repeating until 08/17/2023
Participants will obtain foundational knowledge of sexual violence and rape culture and its’ impact on those whom experience this type of victimization. Trainees will gain basic crisis intervention skills, explore the neurobiology of trauma and learn how to respond appropriately to disclosures. They will also learn about the legal and medical remedies available to survivors and explore how sexual violence impacts unique groups of survivors. The training will conclude with an emphasis on vicarious trauma and self-care and empower trainees with the resources that they may need to share with survivors in their communities.
Registration Deadline: Thursday July 13th, 2023
Dates: July 17, 18, 20 ▪ 24, 25, 27 ▪ July 31st, August 1, 3 ▪ 7, 8, 10 ▪ 14, 15, 17 (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday)
Time: 5:30 PM CDT – 9:30 PM CDT each night
