60-Hour Resilience Advocacy Volunteer Training
October 20 -5:30 pm - 9:30 pm
An event every week that begins at 5:30 pm on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, repeating until 11/22/2021
Participants will obtain foundational knowledge of sexual violence and rape culture and its’ impact on those whom experience this type of victimization. Trainees will gain basic crisis intervention skills, explore the neurobiology of trauma and learn how to respond appropriately to disclosures. They will also learn about the legal and medical remedies available to survivors and explore how sexual violence impacts unique groups of survivors. The training will conclude with an emphasis on vicarious trauma and self-care and empower trainees with the resources that they may need to share with survivors in their communities.
This training will run from October 18 – November 22, every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Orientation Sessions (by invitation only): September 27, 29, or 30 between 5:30PM–9:30PM
