Knitting and Mindfulness

March 29 -3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Participants will learn how to use crafting as a mindfulness practice through guided prompts and open knitting time. A mindfulness practice can help survivors realign mind with body and deepen a sense of self-knowledge. Knitting involves repetitive micro-movements which elicits a sense of stillness in the mind to ease developing mindfulness skills. Participants must have beginner knitting skills to participate.

Wednesday March 29th 3pm-5pm

This workshop is open to adult survivors 18+, who are IL residents, all genders welcome. Appropriate participants may be anyone who has experienced sexual violence, including harassment, abuse, or assault. No previous artmaking experience necessary.
