RVA will be participating in the International Women’s Strike on March 8th. As an organization, we stand for gender justice, economic justice, and racial justice. logo-300dpiAnd every day, we fight to end violence against women – including Black women, Native women, poor women, immigrant women, disabled women, Muslim women, lesbian queer and trans women.

Although our offices will be closed, our commitment to provide 24-hour crisis support to our partner hospitals will continue during this time. If you need to speak with someone immediately, please call the Chicago Rape Crisis Hotline at (888) 293-2080 or National Sexual Assault Hotline at (800) 656-4673.

We recognize striking is not possible for many women. We encourage those who are unable to strike to participate in other ways such as wearing red in solidarity and refraining from spending money except at female-owned businesses. We strike tomorrow in hopes that one day women won’t need to strike for basic human rights.
